The Hunt

Cool dirt under my paws...
I feel the air rush past my fur and over my tongue.
I hear the rapid hoofbeats of our prey and the harsh panting of my packmates.
The racing of our hearts is like thunder to my ears.
The wind carries the sent of it's fear.
Sleek flanks with muscles rippling just under the skin, tantalizingly just beyond the reach of my teeth.
My mouth waters at the thought of tasting that meat.
Soon it will be finished.
